Fantasy

Fantasy is a speculative genre focused on magic, imagined worlds and/or supernatural forces, and includes the following sub-genres: low/high fantasy, grim dark, neomedievalism, magical realism, urban fantasy. Low and urban fantasy take place in our world where magic is hidden from or integrated into daily life, with some world building. High and epic fantasy includes detailed world building, Manichaean conflicts, kingdoms at war, and massive stakes for all. Grimdark fiction is grittier/macabre.
